Dr. Layne Kumetz is a Board-Certified Obstetrician Gynecologist and an Attending Physician at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
Her clinical expertise includes preventative medicine from adolescence through menopause, up-to-date birth control options, abnormal PAP tests, abnormal bleeding, infertility evaluations, cancer screening, pediatric gynecology and optimal obstetric care for both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies. She proudly delivers 95% of her patients' babies.
She is home-grown here in Los Angeles, and even volunteered at Cedars Sinai in the Maternity Ward in high-school.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and went on to get her Medical Degree from the prestigious University of Michigan, one of the top Medical Schools in the country.
She completed her residency in at the highly acclaimed Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where she continues to perform surgery, deliver babies, and participate in resident education.
She has published articles in various peer-reviewed journals including Fertility and Sterility and The Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, the online journal “Medscape Ob/Gyn & Women’s Health”, and she is a co-author in the textbook Clinical and Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. She has presented original research at the national level.
As an exceptionally trained gynecologic surgeon and member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, she is committed to providing her patients with minimally invasive surgical options that allow for less post-operative pain and faster recovery times.
